A full-evening work by Maureen Gorman in collaboration with visual artist Alex Mockbee.
A SEED OF DESIRE is a dance made in collaboration with other artistic mediums. Taking place at an intersection of art mediums provides the audience with a stimulating experience heightening their level of engagement and ability to think without language.
MAUREEN GORMAN, from Albuquerque, NM, is a recent MFA graduate for Choreography and Performance at The SUNY College at Brockport. She was awarded two graduate assistantships during her school career and received the departmental award entitled, Friends of Brockport. Her choreography has been shown in various venues such as the Rochester Brainery, School of the Arts during the annual Rochester Fringe Festival, The Visual Studies Workshop, and SUNY Brockport. In addition, her work entitled It was all such a…. and Tiny Packets were nominated to be shown at the ACDA conference in 2018 and 2019. Maureen has been given opportunities to perform works by artists such as Adriane Fang, Take Ueyama, Jim Hansen, and Missy Pfohl Smith. In addition, Maureen currently teaches at Evolution Pilates in Pittsford, NY.
