A true story of betrayal and murder.
Sometimes attributed to William Shakespeare (as recently as the Oxford Shakespeare's 2016 attribution), 'Arden of Feversham' is an Elizabethan play of unknown authorship. It was entered in the Register in April of 1592 and published in quarto form that year.
Based on a true murder, the play tells the tale of Thomas Arden, a businessman whose wife conspires with her lover to end his life. The murder was a sensation, still the topic of conversation forty years later, when the play was written.
