Eleven choreographers present dance films and live dance performances that incorporate video projection.

On Wednesday December 15 and Friday December 17, works include the humorous "Lockdown Breakdown," a film by artist Martha Schermerhorn with dance by Laurie MacFarlane; and "red pill" by Andrew Evans in collaboration with Erica Jae, which explores the persistent and subtle illusion of choice (Wednesday only).

BIODANCE will present excerpts from two longer works: the hopeful "Air/Once Upon a Time" from 2021’s Elemental Forces; and "The Life Ecstatic," excerpted from 2020’s Bridge to Paradise. Both pieces include live-mixed projection by media artist W. Michelle Harris. The program also includes work by Natalia Lisina, Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp, James Hansen, Ayako Kato and Jason Roebke, and Ruben T. Ornelas.

On Thursday December 16 and Saturday December 18, Anthony Alterio presents FLUFF, a humorous work with film and six performers, that portrays the queer experience of awakening to identity. Hanlon Dance & Company performs "Before Zero," a trio which incorporates the video Infinite Recurrence, and brings to life the images in Eran Hanlon’s photography exhibit, “We were once new,” which is on view in the MuCCC Gallery.

Ethan Beckwith-Cohen’s dance film, "A Short-Lived Moment, Hovering Above Our Heads" connects the movement of hummingbirds with our constantly changing relationship to time and memory. Works by Ayako Kato and Spence Warren, Lisina, Evans (Thursday only), Ornelas, and MacFarlane complete the program.

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.
