Daystar presents “Stories of Turtle Island” on stage with ‘Making Spirit Visible” in the art gallery.
“Stories of Turtle Island” is designed for all ages, that we might better understand the truly unique cultures of Indigenous North America, through stories that originate among the woodland, plains and Northwest Coast peoples – the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe), Blackfeet, Tlinigit/Haida and Chilkat - expressed in beings such as Mother Earth, the Trickster, the Four Direction protectors, and masked animals such as Raven, Bear, Wolf, Crane.
International Guest Artist Daniel Fetecua will dance “Wolf: A Transformation” showing us how Wolf was given as the first companion to the First Man. Excerpts from Daystar’s signature work No Home But The Heart, will also be featured.
The retrospective exhibit “Making Spirit Visible” in the art gallery is there to further enhance the scope of the work of Daystar/Rosalie Jones over the past 40 plus years.
Join us for this “Anniversary Gala” with the reception Dec 5.
$10.00, including seniors, advance or at door $5.00, children up to 8th grade
