The three comedic pieces that comprise “Let’s Get Physical (Theatre)” include two clown pieces and a one-act of theatre, all created here in Rochester, and each with its own themes and dynamic physical approaches.  Ashley Jones and Avi Pryntz-Nadworny present “InDoors”, an original composition in which two clowns cross the threshold into a loopy kaleidoscope of comings and goings.

“InDoors” is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of The Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.

Katherine Marino brings her signature wit and innovation to a new composition that relishes in the joyful possibilities that come from risking, trying, failing, and playing in front of a live audience.  Taking Anton Chekhov’s comedic one-act play “The Bear” and ramping it up by several notches, Infinite Spark’s “The Beast” gives a fourth-wall-breaking, no-holds-barred look at the ridiculous lengths we’ll go to to avoid the vulnerability of loving with abandon.

Katherine Marino is a fixture of the Rochester and Western New York performance scene, as a dancer, choreographer, improvisor, physical theatre creator, and clown. In addition to producing and performing her original work, she also has a passion for teaching and periodically offers workshops in contact improvisation, devising and clowning in Rochester and the surrounding region.

Ashley Jones is a UK-born actor, director, clown, and teacher currently working as Creative Director with PUSH Physical Theatre. Avi Pryntz-Nadworny is a world renowned circus artist, performer, and media creator whose work has taken him around the region, the country, and overseas.

Rachel Kodweis and Jon Froehlich of Infinite Spark Theater Company are transplants to Rochester from New York City. Guided by their motto “never tell a story the same way twice”, their theatrical work explores everything from existing plays by new and established authors, to original plays and compositions written by Jon and/or Rachel, to original non-text-based pieces devised in collaboration with their creative community.

They are joined for this production by Rochester’s own Jonathan Lowery, whose extensive performance training and career has led him to work with multiple cutting-edge companies locally, regionally, and internationally. He currently teaches parkour at Rochester’s Parkour Gym.
