A multi-disciplinary celebration honoring the arrival of Spring. The Velvet Noose is the becoming of avant-garde physical theatre and therapeutic arts.   

MAIOS: the Greek word for May. Over three days and two evenings, a spectacular Beltane celebration unfolds at the behest of the three Fates. 

On this account, The Velvet Noose combines group singing, movement, and symbolic practices from traditional spring rites ceremonies to give life and bear witness to the processes of grief.  

As with previous immersive performances, the audience is encouraged to directly take part by creating its own narratives, and will be given the means to participate upon entering Maios. 

Song lyrics, handmade instruments, gongs, and the like will invite YOU INTO THE SHOW!  *this show contains nudity, depictions of blood, and strobing theater lighting effects
