Psyche and Eros: The Birth of Pleasure!  Psyche: “the breath of love is being hunted”   Eros: “mind me, minding you. find me, finding you”   Avant-garde theatre you can feel! Here, The Velvet Noose explores the imprint of "self" while unbraiding the ancient tale of Eros and Psyche.   In dedication to the one or the other—and for exploring the inner workings of a crafted definition—what does it mean “to be a creative”?

 Is it the end result we seek, or the stumbling of wakefulness that trusts itself to propel? Dearly hopeful; the fear of being misunderstood; the forthcoming cascade of rumination. Do we truly know what’s “best” on our own? Be it an impression, an assertiveness, a reflection in the mirror…  On desire. On carnality. On the birth of pleasure. Eros shoots and Psyche watches. Grotesque dramaturgy incorporates dazzling symbolic imagery into a dreamlike array of physical-immersive theatre. Cinematic eruptions bloom from the shadows. What’s been perceived as inanimate, animates—revealing therapeutic interludes that bleed into sequenced theatrics. In an effort to “liberate the human subconscious,” The Velvet Noose combines poetic expression, puppeteering mask-work, with original sound design “to form a language superior to words,” that invites the spectator into the spectacle.
