John Falstaff seeks redemption, but talk of war and his demons may be catching up to him...
The Rochester Community Players (RCP) will present a one-night-only benefit reading of THE LAST DAYS OF FALSTAFF, written by Justin Rielly, on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:30pm - at the Multi-Use Community Cultural Center (MuCCC), 142 Atlantic Avenue.
Set after the events of HENRY IV, PARTS 1 AND 2, John Falstaff is struggling after being disowned by the newly-crowned King Henry V. When he breaks into a doctor's house, he is taken in by the physician - and he also strikes a friendship with his tapster daughter Isabel. As the talk of war rises against France and Falstaff's bond with Isabel grows, emotional tensions will rise to the surface...
This play is written entirely in blank verse, close to the iambic pentameter of Shakespeare's time. It is inspired by the plays HENRY IV (PARTS 1 AND 2), HENRY V and THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR.
The reading will be a "pay-what-you-will" event, with proceeds going to the Rochester Community Players.
Approx. 2 1/2 hours with intermission
"Pay-what-you-can" with $5 suggested donation
