This is a story about the importance of living life to the fullest and how two families find a way to accept each other. Love conquers all. This comedy reinforces the idea that you can only live life to the fullest by doing whatever makes you happy.
About the show (long description) (please send poster/graphic/logo/placeholder to themuccc@gmail.com asap) A 1930's screwball comedy that pits the eccentric Sycamore family – prone to spontaneous eruptions of music, dance poetry and fireworks – against the buttoned-up bigwigs of Wall Street and the IRS. When Alice Sycamore agrees to marry the son of ultra-conservative parents, will true love win out?
A Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway classic the whole family will enjoy! You Can’t Take It with You premiered on Broadway in 1936 at the Booth Theatre, where it ran for 837 performances. It won a number of awards including the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Drama - the first comedy to be so honored. A 1938 motion picture based on the play was directed by Frank Capra and starred Jimmy Stewart, Jean Arthur and Lionel Barrymore. Nominated for seven Academy Awards, the film won the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director.

* Screen Plays is Hosting a Food Drive for FOODLINK
March 8-17, 2019 at MuCCC during the performances of You Can’t Take it With You
Audience members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the theater when they attend a performance. All food collected will be donated to FOODLINK to help shore up their supplies. Director Karen Tuccio states, “This play, set during the Depression, is a reminder that folks must work together and support one another. Collecting items for FOODLINK is a way to demonstrate the same spirit of generosity shown by the Sycamore family of the part. Art is action. We hope to make a dent in the needs of our local food bank with this food drive.”
