This performance includes collaborations with famed author Steven Sherrill, flutist Eric Bergeman and harpist Sunshine Quan,”, Eastman New Music ensemble Ossia, and Jazz artist Gary Lamaar. Continuing to expand thematically on last years “Maios: Dance of the Satyrs!” and “Super Flower Blood Moon”, here the troupe presents “The Audition: Life or Death!”~  “How we show up for one another is a reflection on how we show up for ourselves”   *this performance includes nudity, loud sound fx, flashing lights, and practical staging effects that may depict human blood  Photo Credit: Kyra Allen

What’s been perceived as inanimate, animates—revealing therapeutic interludes that bleed into sequenced theatrics. In an effort to “liberate the human subconscious,” The Velvet Noose combines poetic expression, puppeteering mask-work, with original sound design “to form a language superior to words,” that invites the spectator into the spectacle.
