Story-driven, surreal, and outrageous dance-theater.

Trifactor features the work of Eran Hanlon, Laurie MacFarlane, and Ruben T. Ornelas, three choreographers with a shared commitment to creating multi-disciplinary dance-theater. In 2019 City Newspaper described their work as “a very different type of dance performance… more subdued, more subtle, and more expressive… (each dance) as different as it was beautiful.”  

MacFarlane makes character-driven dance-theater pieces, and frequently invites composers and visual artists to collaborate in the creation of new works. Hanlon portrays human nature and complex relationships within richly layered and often surreal environments, integrating makeup, costuming and visual elements. 

Ornelas’ recent work is inspired by a range of musical and other sources and seeks to call forth a sense of joy, connection and celebration.  Trifactor will include new pieces and repertory works; please join us.
